Squads - Football / Soccer Tactics Board & Formation Maker
Squads is a free online tactics board for football (soccer). Plan your team's strategy, simulate formations and starting lineups with drag and drop, and share the result as an image, a link or an embed on your blog. You can also animate a play on a full pitch and export it as a video. No sign-up required, and it works on desktop and mobile.

FAQ
- Is Squads free?
- Yes. Using Squads and embedding it on other sites is free. No account or sign-up is required.
- Can I use it as a football tactics board?
- Yes. Drag players on the pitch to plan your strategy, switch between formation presets, and simulate different starting lineups by swapping players from the roster.
- How do I share a formation?
- Export it as a PNG image, copy a share link (the formation is stored in the link itself and opens as a read-only preview), or generate an iframe embed code.
- Where is my data stored?
- Only in your browser (localStorage). The app does not send your data to its servers and uses no cookies, analytics or ads. If you use Squads from an AI assistant (MCP), the line-up the assistant builds is processed on the server to create a share URL and is not stored. See the privacy policy.
- Can I animate a play or make a video?
- Yes, on desktop. Switch to Dynamic mode, place both teams and the ball anywhere on a full pitch, add scenes on the timeline and play them back. Export the play as an MP4 video (H.264, 30 fps, up to 1920×1080) to post on social media; the video is made in your browser and not uploaded.
- Does it work on mobile?
- Yes. Squads works on both desktop and smartphone browsers. Dynamic mode and video export are currently available on desktop only.
